Two Threads, One Weave
TIDAF's Film Competition will showcase 14 carefully selected films from a large pool of submissions. Of the 14 films, 12 are directed by Deaf or Hard of Hearing directors, one by a Deaf-Blind director, and one by a CODA. Audience members vote for their favorite films, with awards to be presented at the end of the festival.

Asuka, a Deaf woman grappling with the fear of losing her sight, finds hope for living through encounters with Deaf-blind individuals and her interactions with Yamato. This is a story depicting her journey as she navigates her dreams and romance, searches for a future where she can be true to herself, and overcomes challenges with the dream of becoming a designer held close to her heart.

Katsutoshi Idoue
A Deaf-blind director born in Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture in 1964. "Two Threads, One Weave" draws from personal experience, starring Deaf-blind actors with the aim of broadening understanding of the Deaf-blind world.
