About the Exhibition
In 2018, the Filipino Sign Language (FSL) Act was enacted, officially recognizing FSL as the language of the Deaf. However, within Filipino education and literature, the focus remains predominantly on written text and hearing individuals. As a result, FSL literature and Deaf expressions are yet to gain widespread recognition. This presentation will highlight how the Filipino Deaf community is working towards greater recognition of Deaf and FSL literature.
