Lawand, a young Kurdish boy, is born Deaf. Concerned for his future in Iraq, his parents make the difficult decision to seek asylum in the UK. After spending a year in a refugee camp, a dedicated supporter helps the family immigrate to the UK. There, Lawand enrolls in The Royal School for the Deaf in Derby. For the first time in his life, he learns sign language and begins to communicate with his teachers and friends, making astonishing progress. Suddenly, Lawand's family is ordered by the UK government to be deported.
This film has won numerous documentary awards at film festivals around the world and is scheduled for a theatrical release in January 2026.
